4.5 StarsArthur attends a job interview, hoping to work as an assistant for Dr. Philbert Jones, a scatterbrained, historian in order to earn enough money to feed himself and his sister, and eventually go back to school. Just one thing… his soon-to-be employer is also a dragon.
I loved the premise of this story, seeing ‘Beings’ (the term given to supernatural creatures) living out in the open amongst humans. The way this was done was executed perfectly, not feeling at all like an info dump and weaving the facts and stories nicely into the plot. My only wish is that I could find out more about these mystical creatures… and perhaps that they existed in our world too, because Dr. Jones, or Bertie as he prefers to be called, is smoking hot. Arthur notices this too from the very first moment he lays eyes on Bertie in his human form. He is determined to find out more, and I found myself being swept away by his curiosity.
As for the characters, I was more than happy with the dynamic between them....
